Ramananda9@aol.com Fwd: a poem by Ramananda for my dear Shraddha

Greetings, and thank you for such a lovely web page for our wonderful guru, Sri Sri Anandamayi MA. After many dreams of MA, I went to India to find her at the age of 17 in 1967. She actually found me, and stopped her car while I was hiking in the Himalayan foothills near Rajport! MA has blessed my life and made it wonderful in every way. I have been teaching yoga in Los Angeles for the last thirty years. I wrote this poem recently for my dear friend Shraddha (Satya's wife). Shraddha, Satya, and Jaiananda were my friends for over twenty years. Thank you again, for spreading Mother's wonderful message to this world. "Mystic MA"

Amidst the nerve jangling traffic, the crush of humanity, cries and woes vampirizing the Night of our Consciousness; the wicked dance of mayas deception, the political half truths, Betrayed friendships....Insanity of fake promises and Dissolution of morality, ethics and Anything Kind. Beyond the Avidya, the Maya, the INSANITY.....
I hear that Mystic Call

On etheric Wings
So full of Light,
Elusive and Pure,
Eternal Mantram,
Ineffable,"OM MA"
She is the Peace that passeth Understanding.
Her name is written on the Clouds.
Her Loka is my Happy Place.
She is Home.

"JAI MA"

That Her precious white wrapped body touched this Earth, softly walking on Angelic feet---Is a blessing mankind can only wait for Ages hoping to See..... Her cascading laughter rushing over the Rocks and Obstacles of our Minds, cleansing our Soul like the Mighty Ganga itself...........

Her bliss Soaring up through the Clouds like the courageous flight of Garuda unbound.... Alone, replendent, MA sits and smiles like the Ageless Kailasha, Unsoiled, Fountainhead of Wisdom, Love Incarnate, Bliss Everlasting... That we should be so Blessed, To be touched by such a gaze of Perfect Love.
When all else fails to move us,
In our stubborn Sleep.
And even when our Hearts are hardened....
Those mystic words of MA break through every Rigid Night,
Any hateful negative thought dispelled by Her lingering gaze,
Angelic Face, and Sunlit Presence.

"OM MA, SRI MA"

You said you would never leave us that we would be Yours Forevermore; Unbroken Golden Cord of Shakti, O Holy One,
You Alone are Truth
And give these Restless Souls a Home.

Ma
Words, no matter how sweet
At best lead to Thy Feet
Where Thy Merciful Bliss
Fills up our consciousness
Setting us Ever Free
In Thy Eternity.

Lilas
Is it true that for many lives
I have looked for YOU,
Tell me that I shall find you soon
For courage is leaving me,
Or perhaps YOU will be the hunter,
Then it will be the end.

A Water-Moon at Dawn in the Void
"Where something is, there God is not." Mataji

1. The snow sets back
And black feathers start to fall
The old beaded cap-gun bangs in the shutters
As the hard brittle banner cracks against broken brick.

2. Existence, intangible and unknown beckons all-pervading.
The river flows on mercilessly, forever
Oblivious of the illusion-the false idol-
Framed by time and space and characterised by pain
Which men worship as life.

3. The One behind the many Speaks without any mystery
To those who will listen.

  4. The sun, the moon, the stars and galaxies
All know their place
Man alone is lost in space-

  5. But then he is the star
Of God's divine, cosmic play.
He must be thoroughly lost
Before he'll search for the way.

  6. But if there is no God
There would be no "way".
Perhaps there is no man?…!
Those who know, don't say.

MA
At Her Lotus Feet
I sing to my Mother.
The whole world disappears
Into Her Love for me

My Mother is Compassion.
My Mother is the Mother of all
Her Love knows no bounds.

My Ma loves me dearly.
My Ma loves me tenderly,
My Ma loves me completely,
I love my Mother eternally.

Her love is like a shawl
Surrounding me, keeping
me warm. Her shawl melts
my little heart with love
For Her, my Mother Divine.

MA-OUR REAL SELF
1. For the Select Few
The ONE who always is,
Indeed, with us, is MOTHER;
She dwells within our hearts,
And no one lives without Her.

Not apart from us is MA,
Nowhere goes She either.
See Her, yes ; Tho'search Her not,
For none there is beside Her.

But whom to see when none's there?
Only MA-the blissful Seer
She sees Herself, in fact, alone,
On land, in sea and air.
Then where're you and where we,
When all is limitless light?
Nought exists as ever separate,
Anywhere, day or night.

Forget all ; it's all illusion,
What is heard and what is seen.
Tranquil be, for MA-the ONE,
Is in thy heart, unheard, unseen.
Love MA in the quest of ONE,
Renounce desire, self and pelf;
Illusion gone, now see and hear
Everywhere, MA-Thy Self.

2. For us Common People
But hard it is to give-up self,
And have no thought of any pelf;
I love MA and love Her well,
And with pleasure, this I tell.
Any hope for one like me,
MA and only MA to see,
All the time, everywhere,
Within, without, here, there?

0 yes, there is another way,
Since love's there, as you say;
For, love is the key,
To unravel mystery.
No doubt they say and rightly too.
That what we see is all illusion
We can never see MA here,
She is beyond worldly vision.

But also true that none exists,
Apart from blissful MOTHER,
MA and MA alone is here,
Whom we see and whom we hear.
MOTHER DIVINE, in playful mood,
In disguise, in million ways,
Is calling us in colorful plenty,
Without exception all our days.

3. Our
The call comes from every corner,
In disguise and many a guise.
All is MA and all is Her's,
Let's not fail to recognize.
ONENESS see with eyes of heart,
Morning, noon and night;
Friendly be with one and all,
On thy left and on thy right.

In every form, in fact, is She,
Serve Her ever tenderly.
Demolish thoughts of high and low,
And seeds of loving action sow.
Remember MA unceasingly,
In thy heart adoringly.
Repeat Her NAME, for Name is She,
Our Lord and Master, conscious be.
NAME alone is everything,
We are Zero-we're nothing.
MA commands, let's obey,
The part She wants, let's play.
Let's surrender to Her will,
Feeling absolutely nil,
Seeking Her compassionate grace,
To behold Her cosmic face.

4. Revelation
Moved by our faithfulness
To NAME, and one-pointedness,
MA's grace'll finish 'I-ness',
All attachments, all the 'My-ness'.
With veil removed, we shall find,
The source of all, 'Ma Das', behind
Our mind and flesh and blood and bone,
Our Real Self-our MA, our own.

Song by Bhàiji

The Song of a Crazy FeIlow
(translated from Bengali)

Let Thy worship, Thy hymns of praise
be the eternal solace of my life;

Let my life brim over with the songs
of Thy adoration, thoughts of Thy divine grace.

I shall see Thee, Mother, in the
wide open sky with wistful eyes.

I shall not ask for any boon, say not a word; I
shall only lay myself down at Thy feet with tears of bliss.

I shall move about in Thy endless expanse of
heaven, scattering songs like flowers
representing Thy glory.

I shall steep myself in Thy bliss, chanting Thy
holy names and sending their echoes throughout the Universe.

All my actions, alt my thoughts of religion are
Thy worship.

O, Mother, give me bhakti (devotion), firm faith, so that
I may make Thy feet the sheet-anchor of my life.

Extract from the poem
Ma Anandamayi

From infancy we heard of mother Ind’s
Long dynasties of sages high and hoary;
Yet in our Pantheons one seldom fìnds
A saintly woman’s form haloed with glory.

We sing of the Gopies’ Krishna-love sky-vast,
In the Vedas women wrote great hymns, we claim,
But when a woman harks back to the past,
We are vexed and never can find for it a name!

So Thou art born to us, O Damset deep,
With wisdom and love divine, and with Thy sure
Answers and raptures make even stalwarts weep
And pandits Laugh - one knows not with what lure!

O, mystic Minstrel holding the Wizard’s Wand
O, Envoy of the Ethereal to Clay!
Teach us until! our minds can understand
Thy gospel of Ananda, and come to stay!

A Jewish devotee from Germany.

In Remembrance
Clothed in the glories of the Universe around
your head a crown of stars, remote and yet so near.

Bathing me in the still waves of peace and
bliss. With the essence of all the beauties of the universe soothing the sores
of homesickness for Thy abode eternal! and feeding silently my heart.
Oh Ma!

In remembrance, Solan 1946.

Ma
Don’t leave me in the turmoil
of this foolish world,
make me remember Thee, my real Self.
Then, in a twinkling of an eye
the clouding structures fail to pieces,
hiding no longer Thy shining Face.

Hymn composed by Bhàiji

Hymn composed by Bhàiji
(translated from Bengali)

Glory to Thee, Sri Anandamayi Ma, eternal. holy
dweller of the heart

Thy lustre, Mother Nirmalà, illumines the
universe. Heavenly virtues radiate from Thee, O Mother.

Queen of divine glory, Gouri,* svaha, svadha,+Om art Thou, O Mother.

Divinely graceful, Thou art absolute Reality,
supremely beautiful and perfect, O Mother.

Sun and moon adorn Thy countenance, the
boundless sky crowns Thy head,

The whole universe Is Thy glorious form, O Mother.

The lustre of worldly riches art Thou,
sweetness incarnate, radiant with splendour, O Mother.

Thou art charming as Lakshmi is to Vishnu,
Thou art Peace, tranquillity and mercy;
all gods and goddesses emanate from Thee, O Mother.

Grantor of happiness and benediction, bestower
of love, wisdom and liberation art Thou, O Mother.

Bringing forth the world, Thou it is who nurses
and preserves and finally draws it back into Thyself.

The very life of Thy devotees art Thou, Grace
incarnate, Saviour of the three worlds, O Mother.

Spell of all Knowledge, charmer of yogins; the
terrors of life are dispelled by Thy presence, O Mother.

The soul of all mantras art Thou, the revealer
of the Vedas, pervading the whole universe, O Mother.

Thou art with forms and qualities, yet also
formless and beyond all description; aglow with love and bliss, O Mother.

Thrilled by Thy touch, the entire universe,
animate and inanimate, ever sings Thy praises, sweet Mother.

Let us all unite and from our hearts offer
obeisance at Thy holy feet; hail!, and again hail! to Thee, Mother.

*Consort of Siva, Svàhà and Svadhà interchangeably used, name of the wife of Agni, the God of Fire. They preside over burnt offerings.
